- His owner says the following abot him:
- Hi, my name is Logan. I am 4-years-old (my birthday is June 27, 2006). I sure love being around people
and my favorite outdoor activity is swimming. I love cuddling on the couch and spending quality time
lounging around. I enjoy spending time with older folks but kids are okay too once I warm-up, as long as
they aren't too rambunctious. I get along with other dogs and cats, I am a submissive guy so not in my best
interest to be with a dominant/domineering dog. My mom and dad are getting a divorce and my mom works long hours
so she doesn't get to spend as much time with me as she'd like. I'd love to meet you to see if we make a good match!
- He is in the Ruther Glen, VA area.
- If you are interested in Logan, please fill out the Mid-Atlantic Adoption Application

Justice - courtesy listing for A Forever Home Rescue
- Hi, I'm Justice. You can see from my picture that I'm one good looking, young, stud.
- Justice is neutered and is about a year old
- He weigha about 75 lbs. You can see that I try to keep in good shape and am nice and slim. The girls love that!
- Everyone says that I'm really handsome and very unique looking. I'm all white, except for a big brown spot on my back,
some on my ears and a big patch over my left eye.
- My foster mom says she loves my pink nose and big paws. What can I say? When you got it, you got it!
- Anyway, I'm also a bit goofy and I have A LOT of energy. I have been known to fly. Well actually it is like a big leap
in the air and I'm able to run really fast and then jump on the furniture. It kind of looks like I'm flying. Because I have
not spent much time in a home, I need some help on my manners. We are working on that now and the dogs that I live with are
helping me to learn.
- I'm totally house and crate trained and I walk well on a leash. So, basically I'm perfect except that you'll have to be
firm with me for a few months until I really catch on to how to live in a home instead of the shelter.
- I do best with kids 10yrs and older since I am so energetic.
- Please send us an email, if you would like to meet me. It will be worth your while.
Sincerely, Justice

- Giner is excellent with children and currently lives with a 4 yr old child.
- She is shy with cats.
- Ginger is fine left out in the house and is good in the yard.
- She loves to run.
- Ginger knows Heel, Come, Sit and rollover.
- Her family has decided to tour the U.S. in an RV and do not find that type
of living conducive for a GSP.
- Ginger is in Reston, Va.
- If you are interested in meeting Ginger, please fill out the Mid-Atlantic Adoption Application
and additional questions can be posed to the rescue.

Winnie
- Winnie is an approx. 8 year-old female GSP. She was turned into a high kill shelter by her owner.
He stated he didn’t need her anymore, and he didn’t care if they put her to sleep. We just can’t imagine
why anyone would not want this sweet little girl.
- She was obviously used for breeding at one time, but she must have not been viewed as useful to her owner any longer.
- Winnie’s foster mom says she is an angel. It was obvious she had never been inside a home, as everything was
new to her at first. She has done so well on her housebreaking, and is learning how to play with toys. She gets
along well with all of the other dogs in her foster home, and especially loves the energetic 11 month-old male.
They wrestle and play together like puppies. She is also patient and loving with the children in her foster home.
- Leash walking Winnie is easy. She prefers to stick close to her people, so she doesn’t pull or drag you around
the neighborhood. She is somewhat of a velcro dog, choosing to follow her people around the house, wherever they go.
It is as if she was so starved for human attention, she doesn’t want to let you out of her sight. She loves being
near her people. Winnie has been doing well in her crate at night. At first, she fussed a bit, but she has grown
accustomed to sleeping in her crate, and doesn’t make a peep.
- Winnie’s foster mom has been working with her on basic commands. She is a fast learner and is eager to please.
She would love to attend an obedience class with her new family. It is a wonderful way to bond with your new addition,
and both humans and dog benefit from the lessons learned in class.
- After entering foster care, Winnie was spayed. She also had a mammary tumor, which was removed and tested.
Mammary tumors are quite common in middle-aged females that have been used for breeding. The tissue did test
positive for cancer cells, but all indications are that it was completely contained and removed fully. No further
treatment is necessary aside from regular follow-ups and monitoring by a vet. Our vets do not believe this will
shorten Winnie’s life expectancy, and she has made an amazing recovery from the surgery. She seems to feel and
act like a much younger dog.
- Winnie is definitely cat sharp, so she would do best in a home without cats. But, since she does well with the
dogs in her foster home, she would probably enjoy a canine companion in her new home. However, she would likely
do well as an only dog also, since she seems to enjoy receiving tons of attention from her humans. Winnie is a
lovely girl with an equally lovely temperament. She would be a wonderful addition to most any family.
- Winnie is being fostered in Ohio. Transport to her new home can be arranged.
- If you are interested in meeting Winnie, please fill out the Mid-Atlantic Adoption Application
and additional questions can be posed to the rescue.

Taz
- Taz is a senior girl around 55 lbs.
- As always, we at Mid-Atlantic GSP Rescue love the seniors and believe they deserve a chance at a better
life for their remaining time. To help people take them in we offer to cover all the annual vetting, not just on
initial arrival, but for the life of the dog. That means there is no financial obligation to taking in a senior
dog. You just need to provide a comfy dogbed and a roof over their heads.
- All the dogs brought in with Taz have been adopted - Birdie, Sambo, Jeb and Target.
- Taz is a laid back girl, great to hang out and watch t.v. with.
- We hope that you might offer Taz a chance at being a housepet and being loved.
- We will get them wherever you are if you can open your heart and love one of these dogs.
- We have several people who have taken in seniors, some of them accept our offer and we vet the dogs and others
decide they will care for the dog. But they all are in agreement on one thing, they love the seniors they have taken
in and wouldn't trade them for the world. Let a senior dog touch your heart today.
- If you are interested in Taz, please fill out the Mid-Atlantic Adoption Application
and additional questions can be posed to the rescue.

Cassie - Cat Friendly
- Cassie is a 5 yr old and 44 lbs.
- UTD on all shots, micro-chipped, housebroken and crate trained.
- She can stay in the house without the crate for many hours and she will not destroy or chew anything other than her bone or her toys.
- She will let you know if she needs to go outside and she will hold on for long periods of time (6 to 7 hrs.)
- She has been boarded when we go away and her playtime interactions are always wonderful.
- She needs a tall fence. Anything under 5’ she will easily jump if there is a small animal nearby. She has a good prey drive.
- She gets very excited when you come home and she wags her tail so hard she can’t sit down! – VERY sweet.
- She loves her people and she is eager to please them.
- Loves cats – although she likes to “herd” them –She often takes naps with one of our cats curled up under her chin or against her stomach - They like to exchange
“baths” with each other!
- She is an excellent running partner and can go as far as you can (8 miles is the most we know that she has run at one time). She also does very well at the dog park.
- She is friendly to all other dogs, and will pick her "buddy" to run with. But Cassie doesn't have a ton of experience with other dogs, she has always
been the only dog. She will guard food and treats.
- She likes to "shake-hands" and will offer her paw to show her affection for you.
- Lovebug – very affectionate.
- Likes to be close to her people. She will sit on your lap if you get on the floor with her.
- She enjoys “gutting” stuffed toys and her Kong is her fav.
- Vanilla ice cream is her favorite treat! Lactose-free soft-serve is tops on her list.
- Basic obedience training was completed. She will follow the commands: come, sit, lay-down and stay. A refresher course would be needed for off-leash activities.
- She will "point" and seek small animals very easily. If she happens to see/smell/sense small animals like bunnies and squirrels while on the leash she will pull strongly.
She can easily regain her composure when you redirect her attention.
- She is great in the car, just gets in the back seat and lays down.
- She does not like her nails clipped but it is ok to touch her paws. She is trained to get her feet wiped before entering the house.
- Cassie has developed a fear of children, so kids > 13 yrs are recommended.
- Cassie is being fostered in Centreville, VA.
- If you are interested in meeting Cassie, please fill out the Mid-Atlantic Adoption Application
and additional questions can be posed to the rescue.

Daisy
- Daisy is a female GSP, between 6 and 7 years old, and weights 45 lbs.
She is very well behaved in the house and during car/truck rides. Daisy
is a very active GSP and is “prey” driven – by that I mean Daisy searches
the back yard for birds, squirrels and outside critters immediately upon
being let out the back door.
- Overall, Daisy is in excellent health. She is not on any medications
and does not have any known existing medical problems/conditions.
- Daisy is house broken and has never went potty in the house.
Daisy has regular schedule times (morning, afternoon, and evening) that she is
taken for walks and/or let out in the back yard with my Labrador. If she needs
to go potty when we are home, she will go down the stairs from the kitchen and
sit at the stairs leading to our back door – signaling us that she has to go potty.
- Daisy has never counter surfed nor has she gotten into the trash in an attempt
to get food, etc. However, every now and then she will go into the master bedroom
or master bath and pick tissue paper from the wastebasket - Don’t know why she
does this and she does not take anything else out of the wastebasket.
- Daisy has not chewed on or up “anything” in the house, with the exception of
her “stuffed animals/toys” – she “completely” destroys them in one sitting if you let her.
A very familiar trait for GSPs.
- Daisy knows come, Sit and Stay (she knows them, but sometimes she does not pay attention to them).
She also knows “down” for when she is not called up on the bed. When you pat the bed, she knows it
the sign that she is allowed to come up on the bed.
- Excellent with children and people on the street she meets – loves the attention from new people.
- No identifiable issues have arisen concerning the interaction with other dogs that have come
into our back yard or that Daisy meets on the street during our walks. She has not had any issues with our Labrador.
- Her foster home started to use a harness for her walks. Made 100% difference on her pulling the
leash – she keeps a tight leash but a gentle pull will slow her down – and she will walk slower.
- To my knowledge, Daisy has never been crate trained. Daisy and my Labrador have complete access
to the house when we are away, and they have never destroyed anything – hence a crate was never needed for Daisy.
- She sleeps in her own bed next to our bed in the master bedroom. Actually she took over my Labrador’s
bed months ago… there has not been a problem with that issue between them.
- Daisy is a medium to high energy GSP. She just loves going for walks in the woods or on streets adjacent
to a wooded area. She is extremely “prey driven” and loves to hunt small animals – we have numerous squirrels
/ ground-hogs / birds that come into our yard to get to our garden/apple tree/peach tree.
- The only identifiable fears of Daisy is that she is “very afraid of thunderstorms”. When thunderstorms occur,
she wants to go into the closet where it is dark, or attempts to crawl under the bed.
- Daisy knows Come, down, sit and Stay.
- Sometimes it is necessary to raise your voice to get Daisy’s attention – most of the time it does get her
attention, but not always. It’s just depends upon what has caused her not to respond to your normal voice.
She can have total focus in some areas.
- Daisy is one great, perky girl. She loves being in the woods, riding in a car, playing fetch in the back yard
and being with her owners getting a belly rub.
- We know that she came from Alaska at the age of 3 years old, and was rescued from an Animal Shelter in Southern Virginia.
- Daisy does dig at the bottom of the back yard fence. She “does not” dig under the fence to get out of the yard –
she digs under the fence because that’s the path (scent) of squirrels, ground hogs (we have them in the adjacent yards),
and other outside critters. She stops digging when spoken to in a loud voice. She has been left alone in the back yard for
up to 1 hour without causing any problems or attempting to escape.
- She is a Very strong girl, not one ounce of fat on her body, all muscle.
- >In the foster family’s view, it takes awhile for Daisy to build trust towards a person. She’s fine with new human
beings and other dogs she meets. But with us (foster family) in the beginning she was stand-offish and cautious for awhile.
When she starts to trust you, her eyes soften up and you can tell the difference. We found that spending “extra time” with
her at the beginning and having a lot of petting and “hands-on” (physical touching) activities with her, it made the transition
and acceptance to trust us much quicker. She is one “SMART GIRL”.
- Daisy is not food motivated like most of the other GSP’s we have fostered. She likes treats, etc. But if you are trying to
give her a treat to break her concentration on something – it won’t work.
- Daisy has escaped twice from our custody, once over a year ago (August 2009) – during our 1st week fostering her, and once during July 2010.
- Daisy is being fostered in the Woodbridge/Occoquan, VA area.
- If you are interested in hearing more about Daisy, please fill out the Mid-Atlantic Adoption Application
and additional questions can be posed to the rescue.

Sophie
- Sophie is a petite and sweet soon-to-be-spayed female.
- She enjoys jumping up and can do so into your arms if you're quick enough to catch her.
- She is fine with other dogs (readily submits) and people. She may, however, knock over young children in her innocent playfulness.
- She loves to be around people and cries a little when I leave her alone or in a crate. She is getting more and more comfortable
but is not quite crate-trained yet.
- She is housebroken with a dog door. Sophie loves to snuggle with her foster mom and curls up into the tiniest little GSP ball!
- She knows basic commands, such as come, sit, kennel; and we're working on other words.
- Sophie loves to be carried around; she's not quite 40 lbs of adooooorable GSP.
- Sophie is being fostered in Manassas, VA.
- If you are interested in hearing more about Sophie, please fill out the Mid-Atlantic Adoption Application
and additional questions can be posed to the rescue.

Emmy
- Emmy is beautiful black and white mixed female shorthair around 12-14
months old.
- She is 50 lbs with a very healthy appetite.
- Emmy is utd on vaccines, spayed and microchipped.
- She is housebroken and crate trained.
- She loves being with you at all times and is very eager to please.
- She is happy to sleep in her crate or in a dog bed at the foot of her
foster parent's bed. Emmy sleeps throughout the night and is patient
in the morning if you are a late riser!
- Emmy is very affectionate and LOVES to have her tummy rubbed.
- Emmy is very active, and her
excitement for life could be too much for a young child. She would
likely do best in a home with older children.
- Emmy loves to play with her brother and sister GSPs and with a tennis
ball. She needs to be placed in a home with a family that can give her
many opportunities to exercise on a daily basis. As always, a tired
dog is a happy dog!
- Emmy is happy to have all the attention or to share it with others.
She could be very well suited for a single or multiple dog home.
- Her foster family is working on basic commands. Currently Emmy knows
"sit," "down," "no," "off," "come," and "stay." She definitely wants
to please you and would be a star in a basic obedience class.
- Emmy knows her name and is very intelligent. She also loves to ride in
the car and walks are tops with her.
- Emmy bonds very well and will have no trouble adjusting to a new family.
She will thrive in a family that defines clear boundaries and sets
consistently followed rules because, like all puppies, she's still
figuring out her place in life.
- She is being fostered near Frederick, MD.
- If you are interested in hearing more about Emmy, please fill out the Adoption Application
and additional questions can be posed to the rescue.

Cora
- Cora is an almost 2 year old spayed GSP mix.
- She is utd on all her vaccines, she is house-trained and crate-trained
(although she would really prefer not to be in the crate any longer than she needs to!)
- Cora does great in the house outside of her crate when we are gone. She had a couple accidents
when she first arrived, but now we can leave her out all day while we are at work without any problems
- Cora has an endearing underbite that may sometimes look like a growl. But, lean in closer for a look,
and you will always end up with a sloppy kiss!
- Cora is a lively young girl that loves to play and go for long walks, but she is also great at
knowing when it is time for her to relax.
- Cora does well on a leash and can be easily distracted, but responds quickly to corrections
and knows how to follow her owner's lead
- She is very interested in birds and small animals on her walks, but she gets along great
with cats in the house and loves giving underbite-kisses to children as well
- Cora loves playing with her foster brothers and sisters more than anything, so a home with another playful dog would be best
- Cora hasn't had any formal obedience training, but she has proven to be a quick learner when treats are involved
- Cora is currently in foster care around Cincinnati, OH, and transport can be arranged for adoption.
- If you are interested in hearing more about Cora, please fill out the Mid-Atlantic Adoption Application
and additional questions can be posed to the rescue.

Molly
- Molly is an 11 month-old spayed GSP.
- Her dad moved from Washington state with her a few months ago. He now lives with his girlfriend and her two year-old daughter.
Since his situation has changed so drastically, he does not have the time to dedicate to Molly. He feels she deserves all of the
attention and exercise she had grown accustomed to when she was his “only child” back in Washington.
- Molly is a friendly, happy girl. She loves meeting new people, and does well with other dogs. She is great with the young
child in the home, but is a bit rambunctious, and sometimes accidentally knocks her over (she apologizes with a kiss on the face).
Given her young age and exuberance, she would likely be best suited to a home with older children that are sturdier on their feet.
- Molly enjoys the water, so if you have a pool, a pond, a boat, or vacation near the water, Molly would be in heaven.
She is a young girl, so she’ll need an active family that can provide her with adequate exercise on a daily basis. She will
also benefit from formal obedience training. We recommend that for all adopters, as it provides you with an amazing opportunity
to bond with your new family member, and establish boundaries and rules.
- She is crate trained and housebroken. But, she is still young, so she needs to be let out at regular intervals. Her dad has
taught her to “go potty” on his command, so all you have to do is tell her what to do, and she will oblige.
- Molly does well on leash, although her dad admits he hasn’t done a lot of leash training with her. She has mostly been in areas
where she can run free. He says she pulls a little, but not excessively, so her new family would need to work with her to polish her leash manners.
- Her dad says one of her favorite “games” is to take her bone and hide it somewhere. A few minutes later, she will retrieve the bone and
search for an even better hiding place. She can entertain herself with this game for hours on end.
- Molly has lived with other dogs, so should be ok in a home with a canine companion. But, her dad says she was also used to being
the “only dog” so she would likely be happy with that scenario as well.
- This is a great young girl, and she would make a lovely companion for an active family. She is located with her dad in the
Indianapolis, IN area. He is willing to assist in transporting her to her new forever home. We felt leaving her with her dad vs. taking
her into foster care was the best situation for her. She can remain where she is comfortable, and then only have “one change” to endure when
she goes to her new home. He wants her to find a loving forever home where she can receive all of the attention and love she so deserves.
- If you are interested in hearing more about Molly, please fill out the Mid-Atlantic Adoption Application
and additional questions can be posed to the rescue.
